The health benefits of running backwards.

When you run backwards you use your muscles and senses in ways that you normally wouldn't. The first part of this may make you think it's just about enthusiasts, but about midway a professor and a physical therapist talk about how it can help you recover from injuries, and prevent them in the first place as long as you don't trip over that pothole.

Weird Water Found In Deep Ocean Vent

Water behaving like a thin liquid or a dense vapor has been found 2,990 meters under the sea. At 298 bar and 407 °C, seawater becomes a supercritical fluid that can diffuse diffuse through solids like a gas, yet dissolve things like a liquid.

vdat: VDAT 2006 - Decisions on Submitted Papers

Dear Colleague,
Please ignore this mail if you have not submitted a paper to VDAT 2006.
The Program Committee for VDAT 2006 met and finalized the decisions on papers submitted to VDAT 2006. First of all, we would like to thank all the authors t for considering VDAT as a forum for presenting their work. This year, we received over 200 submissions and it was a challenge to get sufficient number of reviews to arrive at the decisions.  Many thanks for all the reviewers whspent their valuable time to provide constructive feedback to the authors.
Two categories of papers have been identified:
(a) Regular papers - 10 pages in VDAT Proceedings and 20  minutes of presentation time
(b) Short papers - 8 pages in VDAT proceedings and 15 minutes of presentation time
The PC accepted 23 regular papers and 25 short papers. Congratulations to the authors of accepted papers. For the others, we hope the reviews will help you in improving the papers and publishing them in another forum. We had to turn down several good papers since the committee felt that VDAT may not be the best forum to present these papers. VSI will consider creating a suitable forum for papers which fell into that category. The list of accepted papers appears at the end of this mail. The status and the reviews can also be seen from the CMT system which the authors used for submitting the papers. If you face difficulties, please write to vsisecy@vlsi-india.net  It is expected that the authors of accepted papers will register to VDAT 2006, make their own travel and stay arrangements, and present the paper at the symposium. It is also expected that the authors will submit the camera-ready versions of their manuscripts no later than June 20, 2006, and the presentation foils in PPT format no later than July 20, 2006.
Instructions to Authors for submitting their final manuscript will be sent in a separate mail. The advance program for the conference will become available by June 15. We urge the authors to start making preparations for their travel. The VDAT website contains information on suitable hotels.
I once again thank all of you to have considered VDAT 2006 as a forum for presenting your work. I look forward to meeting you at VDAT! Meanwhile, queries may be directed to vsisecy@vlsi-india.net or to vdat06@hotmail.com
Regards,
C.P. Ravikumar
